APPLICATION NOTES:
- Substrate preparation:
– The construction surface must be clean, solid, free of dust, oil and other impurities that affect the adhesion of the waterproofing membrane.
– Grind smooth all high spots and sharp protrusions.
– Surface defects such as voids, blowholes and static cracks must be repaired and refilled to prepare a sound surface for bonding.
– Horizontal substrates must have sufficient slope gradient to avoid water ponding.
– Metal surfaces must be rust-free and clean.
– Surface must be saturated before construction (be absolutely careful not to let stagnant water).
- Mixing: MC-Proof DF 6 is ready-to-use dispersion. Mix thoroughly with a low-speed mechanical mixer prior to application for homogenization.
- Application:
– MC-Proof DF 6 can be applied with brush, roller or airless spraying equipment.
– For absorbent mineral substrates, primer can be applied by mixing MC-Proof DF 6 with 5-8% clean water at a usage rate of 0.2 – 0.3 kg/m².
– MC-Proof DF 6 should be applied with at least 2 coats crosswise. The waiting time for dry-touching of the coat is between 1-2 hours, depending on temperature, humidity and layer thickness.
– At extreme areas such as corners, wall and floor conjunctions or areas with traffic, MC-Proof DF 6 should be reinforced with a suitable reinforcing membrane or fibreglass mesh immediately after the first layer is applied.
- Remark:
– Don’t apply MC-Proof DF 6 under rain or extreme weather.
– MC-Proof DF 6 should not be used in permanent contact with water. Roofing structures need to be designed at least 2% slope gradient.
- Protection and curing: Full cure of MC-Proof DF 6 waterproofing system is approximate 14 days after the final coat. Water ponding test for leakage can be performed after 7 days. The freshly applied membranes must be protected from rain for a minimum of 6-12 hours.
- Safety instruction:
– Always check the safety information on the packaging label and refer to the material safety information.
– Always wear full protection such as masks, gloves, shoes, goggles during working.
– If it gets into your eyes, rinse immediately with clean water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses if present and continue rinsing with clean water.
– If you have any unusual symptoms, call your doctor or medical center immediately for timely treatment.
- Cleaning: Clean tools and construction equipment immediately after finishing work with clean water and before the material hardens.
