- APPLICATION NOTES:
➢ Substrate preparation:
– The construction surface must be hard, firm, free of dirt, grease, old paint or other impurities…which may affect the adhesion of the waterproofing layer.
– Flatten sharp, convex positions. Use a high-pressure water jet or suitable equipment to remove debris and clean the surface.
– Handling cracks, pits on the construction surface to have a hard, firm surface that easily adheres to the waterproof layer.
– Surfaces with high water absorption should be moistened to saturation of the surface but without water stagnation.
– Wall corners and edges must be chamfered with plaster or other suitable materials.
➢ Mixing:
– Mixing ratio: Component A (Powder) : Component B (Liquid) = 2 : 1 (By weight).
– Pour component (B) into a clean bucket, slowly sprinkling component (A) into component (B) using a slow-speed mixer.
– Mix for about 3 minutes, carefully mixing to disperse the flour evenly until the mixture is homogeneous without lumps. Do not mix at high speed or mix for too long to avoid foaming in the mixture.
– The product after mixing should wait 3-5 minutes for the chemical components to react with each other, then it should be applied immediately. If the mixture is dry, discard it. Do not add water and mix again.
– To ensure the mixture ratio, the product must be mixed as a whole, not in parts.
➢ Application:
– MC-Proof SP 155 must be applied with a minimum of 2 coats. The first coat is applied by brush, brush or roller in only one direction until the surface is fully covered. The second coat is applied as soon as the first coat begins to dry, about 3-6 hours depending on environmental conditions. Use a soft brush to sweep in a direction perpendicular to the first layer. In case the first coat is too dry, it should be lightly moistened with water before applying the second coat.
– The recommended thickness of the finish waterproofing is at least 1mm for areas not subject to hydrostatic pressure such as bathrooms, balconies, kitchens, terraces, etc.
– MC-Proof SP 155 can be applied with a suitable sprayer and must be tested prior to application.
➢ Curing:
– Avoid applying in direct sunlight (Surface temperature above 35°C) or in windy conditions.
– The waterproofing layer should be protected from rain or running water for at least 24 hours to protect the integrity of waterproofing membrane. Early exposure to water can affect the color of the waterproofing without affecting quality.
– MC-Proof SP 155 waterproofing membrane requires a protective screed on it.
➢ Cleaning:
– Use clean water to clean tools and equipment immediately after construction.
– When the product is solidified, it can only be cleaned by mechanical means.
➢ Safety information: MC-Proof SP 155 does not contain any hazardous substances requiring labeling and is very safe in normal working conditions such as wearing gloves, goggles,…
