MC-Proof 2200 HC

Two-component Polyurethane-based elastic waterproofing membrane.

  • PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

MC-Proof 2200 HC is a high-performance, flexible, two-component polyurethane waterproofing membrane, particularly suitable for water tanks, wet areas, and concrete or masonry structures requiring absolute waterproofing.

  • PRODUCT PROPERTIES:

➢ High elasticity and elongation.
➢ Fast drying time, allowing for early commissioning of structures.
➢ High tensile strength and tear resistance.
➢ Superior chemical resistance*.
➢ Easy to apply.

  • AREAS OF APPLICATION:

MC-Proof 2200 HC is used for waterproofing the following structures (concrete or masonry):
➢ Water tanks, domestic water reservoirs
➢ Swimming pools
➢ Roof slabs, wet areas
➢ Planter boxes, flower beds
➢ Drainage channels, gutters
➢ Manholes, grease traps, wastewater treatment tanks
➢ Infrastructure and sanitary works, etc.

  • PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS:
Product type: Two-component polyurethane waterproofing membrane.
Form: Liquid.
Color: Grey.
Packaging: 40 kg/set (Component A: 20 kg; Component B: 20 kg).
Storage: Store in a dry, cool, covered area, away from direct sunlight, at temperatures between 15°C – 30°C, and away from heat sources. Keep in original unopened packaging.
Shelf life: 12 months from date of manufacture (unopened packaging).
  • APPLICATION ADVICE:

 Surface preparation:
– The substrate must be flat, dry, clean, and free from loose particles, dust, oil, grease, laitance, or any other contaminants.
– Before application, fillets should be formed at wall-floor junctions. Repair concrete defects and fill voids or cavities using Nafufill repair mortar.
– Residual moisture content of the substrate must not exceed 4%. Moisture should be checked using a moisture meter.

➢ Primer application:
– For porous substrates (high absorption), MC-Proof 2200 HC itself can be used as a primer by applying a thin layer using a steel trowel, or use a dedicated primer such as MC-EP Primer.
– After primer application, allow a minimum of 8 hours and a maximum of 24 hours before applying the waterproofing membrane.
– If more than 24 hours have passed, lightly grind the surface and clean it to remove gloss and reopen surface porosity to ensure proper adhesion.

➢ Mixing: MC-Proof 2200 HC is a two-component polyurethane waterproofing system (Component A and B), therefore mixing must be done using a low-speed mixer.
– First, open Component B and mix thoroughly to ensure homogeneity and prevent sedimentation.
– Then, pour the entire Component A and Component B into a clean container (without leaving residues in original containers) and mix until a homogeneous, smooth mixture without streaks is achieved.
– Each 20 kg of Component A must be mixed with 10 kg of Component B according to the supplied ratio.

➢ Application: Apply MC-Proof 2200 HC in thin layers using a brush, short-nap roller, or suitable spray equipment. Ensure uniform and continuous coverage over the entire surface, avoiding sagging. Maximum thickness per layer: ≤ 0.5 mm (~800 g/m²).

➢ Application notes:
MC-Proof 2200 HC is not resistant to negative hydrostatic pressure and is not suitable for application on damp substrates. Application under such conditions may result in air bubbles. In such cases, a suitable waterproofing system or primer must be applied beforehand.
– When applied outdoors, the product may change color over time. If long-term aesthetics are required, a protective coating should be applied over the membrane.
– For special cases, please contact MC-Bauchemie technical department for further guidance.

➢ Curing: Ready for light foot traffic or subsequent finishing after 24 hours. For waterproofing performance testing (ponding test), wait at least 48 hours after completion of the final coat.

➢ Use and maintenance: Clean the membrane using a soft brush with neutral detergent and rinse with clean water. Finished surfaces covered with tiles or coatings can be cleaned using diluted bleach, chlorine solutions, bicarbonate, vinegar, or mild inorganic cleaners. Do not use solvent-based cleaners or volatile organic compounds such as thinner, turpentine, or solvent-based ceramic cleaners. For other cleaning agents, consult MC-Bauchemie technical department before use.

➢ Safety: When applying in enclosed or poorly ventilated areas, proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be used and forced ventilation must be provided. Always check safety information on product packaging and refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for detailed instructions on handling, storage, and disposal.
