MC-Montan Seal ST F1

• PRODUCT PROPERTIES:

MC-Montan Seal ST F1 is the first-fill sealant for TBM, which is designed for the extensive protection of the brush seal from the very first application. A specially adapted formulation guarantees:

➢ Extensive protection of the brush seal against abrasion as well as against mortar and water ingress.
➢ Increased consistency and adhesion compared to MC-Montan Seal ST 11.
➢ Longest possible flexibility of the brushes.
➢ Outstanding water and mortar resistance.
➢ Excellent interaction of the fibres with the brush seals.
➢ Pumpability even over longer distances.
➢ Base oil made from renewable raw materials, easily biodegradable.
➢ REACH compliant.

• AREAS OF APPLICATION:

➢ Initial filling of the brushes.
➢ Emergency grade.

• APPLICATION ADVICE:

➢ Consumption:
– For an adequate initial filling of the brushes, 15-17kg MC-Montan Seal ST F1 should be used per linear metre of brush seal. In order not to damage the brushes, it is recommended to inject into the brush seal using a flat-head lance.
– For an emergency injection, injection is only recommended in the critical areas and in sufficient quantity to secure and clean the affected areas. The pump system on the TBM back-up can be used for this purpose.

➢ Pumping system:
– The dimensions of the metal drums supplied are matched to the dimensions of the rams installed on the TBM. For pumping MC-Montan Seal ST F1, we recommend using the MC-Montan Device HD injection pump, which requires only minimal maintenance at maximum running time.

➢ For initial filling, it is recommended that the pump is installed close to the shield tail.
