MC-DUR SK50 UW

Epoxy grout for use with the advanced pile encapsulation system.

  • PRODUCT PROPERTIES:

➢ Marine-grade Epoxy bonds underwater (seawater or fresh) to wood, concrete, or steel.
➢ High flow, self-levelling formulation allows the material to be pumped, minimizing handling and clean-up.
➢ Utilized with Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) jackets and forms to encapsulate structures and/or restore section loss.

  • AREAS OF APPLICATION:

➢ Piers;
➢ Bridges;
➢ Offshore structures;
➢ Dams;
➢ Sea walls,…

  • APPLICATION NOTE:

Coverage: One unit (4.7 kg/unit) of Component A plus Component B, when mixed with one bags of Component C (16 kg/bag) give the consumption rate approximately 2.0 kg/m² with a mortar layer thickness of 1mm.

Mixing ratio:

➢ Step 1 – Binder: Part A (Hardener) : Part B (Resin) = 1.35 : 1 (by weight).

➢ Step 2 – Final Mix: Part C (Aggregates) : Mixed binder [Part A + Part B] = 3.4 : 1

Note: The ratio may be adjusted depending on specific application requirements.

Pot life:

➢ Mixing and handling time: Unlimited when plural component method is used.

➢ Pot life after mixing at downstream end of hoses: 30 mins@25°C.

➢ Full cure time: 7 days@25°C.

Application: Methods of surface preparation, application and handling will vary due to the broad scope of specialized applications. Most applications will require removal of marine growth and cleaning of rust and scale. For information on estimating, application, pump equipment, and further recommendations, contact our representative.

Cleaning of tools: Mixed Epoxy is much easier to clean up before it hardens-solvents such as acetone, methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) and toluene may be used. Commercial Epoxy strippers are recommended for hardened Epoxy. Consult solvent manufacturer’s usage recommendation.

Remark: Results may differ based upon statistical variations depending upon mixing methods and equipment, temperature, application methods, test methods, actual site conditions and curing conditions.
